committed to working toward the goal that as a result of participation
in our corporate life and ministry, members and friends of Westminster
shall be marked by: |
In
order to be faithful to a Biblical vision for the church, the
elders and staff of Westminster affirm that by God's grace the following
ten commitments and values shall mark our church: |

relationship with Jesus Christ, believing in Him and accepting His
forgiving love;
- daily prayer;
- daily Bible reading marked by a response of obedience;
- a commitment to public and private worship that is spiritual and
truthful;
- a participation in the family fellowship of the church community,
marked by relationships of support, accountability and joy;
- a heart of love, forgiveness and service for others
- a transformed and exemplary life marked by the fruit of the Holy
Spirit, acknowledging our ongoing need for grace;
- a life that bears witness in word and deed that Jesus Christ is
Lord and Savior;
- the Holy Spirit's presence and power in life and ministry, knowing
and using gifts to build up the church body;

- We believe that God fives primary and authoritative guidance for
the church through the Bible.
- We believe that a saving knowledge of God through a relationship
of faith and trust in Jesus Christ is the purpose of life and the
measure for everything the church is and does.
- We believe that God has called us together in Christ to be a new
community marked by grace, truth and love.
- We believe that our life together is centered around the worship
of God.
- We believe that preaching, teaching and the sacraments hold
primary position in worship.
- We believe in the active ministry of the Holy Spirit who applies
grace to our lives and gives ministry gifts to each of us.
- We believe that all are called to ministry and to the stewardship
of their gifts.
- We believe that evangelism and discipling are at the heart of the
church's mission.
- We believe that Christ calls us to help those in need - without
exception.
- We believe that through prayer we will participate with Christ in
the fulfillment of these beliefs.
