Children's Ministries

 

 

Kids Church

At 9:30 a.m., children attend church with their parents until the Call to Worship.  The children are then dismissed to their classrooms for KiDz ROCk.  Ages 2-4 (Movers and Shakers) will go to room 4, K-3rd grade (Prime Time KiDz) will go to room 6, and KiDz on the EDGE (4-5-6 grades) will go to Westminster Hall.

 

KidVenture

A Wednesday after school program for 1st thru 6th grades, from 12:00 noon -- 3:00 pm in Westminster Hall. Homework, crafts, music, movies, and indoor / outdoor activities are available for boys and girls. 

In the Spring of the year, we have a "Tea".  The children are taught manners, how to serve food and cookies, and pour tea seeing if the would like one or two lumps of sugar.
 

Music and Drama
        On Wednesdays 6:35 - 7:30, Children first grade through sixth grade will have an opportunity to attend a Children’s Choir/ Bell Choir/ & Drama team time being facilitated by Shelley S. 

Avalanche KiDz Club
        On Friday for 6:00 - 8:00 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will meet.  We will learn about God, eat, and fellowship with each         other.  For the summer, every other Friday, we will eat and join Screen on the Green.  We will have beach parties, do crafts, drama and learn how to become a mime for Jesus. (Start date to be announced)  

Avalanche Ranch Adventure Camp -
     The Summer started off with a weekend Summer Camp for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.  They go to Forest Home camp in Ojai Valley, where they read the bible, learn bible verses and enjoy the pool, mountain biking, mountain, boarding, skateboard, basketball, volleyball, Frisbee golf, a climbing wall, or the zip line.

Fall Family Fun Festival
    October 31, we present a free family alternative to Halloween.  There are Jolly Jumps, games, candy, pop corn, hot dogs, nachos, and drinks for all in attendance.  The neighbor schools are invited in this community outreach program.

Winter Family Cookie Fest
    In December, we invite the neighborhood, to come to the church and decorate cookies.  The cookies are decorated in taken home.  The intent is to offer any remaining cookies to the neighborhood with an invitation to to our Christmas services.
